The past week was so wonderful celebrating Thanksgiving, seeing family & friends and spending time with our little family of 3! Since our school district has off the whole week for Thanksgiving, my mom was off and my dad had vacation for the week. It was so nice to be able to spend time with them and have someone to run around town with.
We started off Thanksgiving week with an unseasonable cool front, highs in the 40's. I love the cool weather, so it was wonderful to me! Madison on the other hand is not a fan of jackets and socks...therefore not a fan of cold weather. ;)
My Aunt Donna and Meme came in town Saturday- Tuesday, so we spent time with them for the first part of the week. Tuesday afternoon, my mom and I did some Christmas shopping while Madison stayed with my dad. Tuesday night Leslie and I went to Starbucks for some girl time...but not before Madison choked and scared the daylights out of me! She had a mouth full of mucus that got caught up and she started flailing her arms and wouldn't take a breath. We were both scared and shook up for a little while.
By Wednesday it had warmed up a little, so we got Madison out of the house and went to lunch and stopped at a couple stores. That girl loves riding in the car!
Thursday morning was Thanksgiving and we started our day with cooking sweet potatoes and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. We headed to Katy for Thanksgiving at Michael and Heather's mid morning. They have held Thanksgiving at their house for the past 9 years and it is always a good time. They always have a house full of people, including my family, Eric's family and Heather's family. We stayed until early evening and then headed back home since Eric had to work on Friday.
We have never been big Black Friday shoppers, so we enjoyed a lazy morning (Madison had a LONG night Thursday) watching the Today Show, then went to do some shopping with my mom after the craziness died down. Friday night, Eric and I went out to dinner together while my parents watched Madison. It was our 2nd date night since she was born and it was much needed! We had such a nice time enjoying dinner, Starbucks and walking around Hobby Lobby. We are so lucky that Madison is always wonderful when we take her to a restaurant, but it was nice to go just the 2 of us. The rest of the weekend was spent running errands, doing stuff around the house and seeing both our families. We celebrated Eric's mom's birthday on Sunday with a steak dinner.
I'm not sure Madison even noticed that we were gone...
This week is bittersweet as it is my last 3 days of maternity leave. I will be going back to work on Thursday, so I am trying to soak up every minute with Madison this week.
