24 Weeks

May 23, 2013

Baby news: Our baby girl is 13.5 inches and 1.50 lbs.

How far along? 24 weeks...another week in the books! Eric and his "medical self" is happy to reach this day since 24 weeks is considered age of viability...I keep reminding him this is far from the goal...16 weeks to go!

Total weight gain/loss: 6 pounds total. I went to the dr last Thursday and they had a new scale. The nurse said they have been getting lots of complaints since the old scale wasn't calibrated right. Therefore, the number on the new scale is 4 lbs higher than the old scale. I had been weighing myself at home, so I wasn't worried about the difference.

Sleep: I am sleeping good, but waking up at least 4-5 times a night. Even when I get enough sleep, I am still tired in the morning. I guess I am just waking up so often that it is disrupting my sleep.

Best moment this week: Friday morning we went to visit Children's Lighthouse. Leslie and Jonathan have taken their girls there for over 5 years and have been happy. We went to visit, saw the infant room and met the teachers. It seems like a wonderful place. We were very impressed. I of course cried when we left thinking about having to leave our baby when I go back to work.

Cravings: Friday night we went to dinner for Michael's birthday. I had some sushi and it was delicious! I hadn't had sushi since last September.

Movement: I have been feeling stronger movements, which is amazing! Feeling Madison move is by far the most amazing part of the pregnancy.

Have you started to show yet? Yes and I love it!

Gender prediction: It's a girl!! I am excited to get the nursery painted and start setting things up.

Wedding rings: Still on, although I have found myself not wearing them all day on the weekend since we are out and about a lot.

Mood: Things are slowing down a little at work as the year is coming to an end, so that has been nice this week. I have had a lot more energy. Wednesday was a tough day. I felt worn out all day and had some muscle pain. I think it was due to a busy day at work.

Looking forward to: Beginning in the nursery. We are hoping to paint in the next couple weeks.

Anything Else??? We had a fun but very busy weekend. Friday morning we went to visit the Children's Lighthouse and then I went to Katy to have lunch with Tegan. It was fun to see her and hang out with Heather and the boys that afternoon. That night we went to dinner for Michael's birthday. Saturday morning we got up early and went to the Pasadena Strawberry Festival for Eric to play mud volleyball with his coworkers...that was an experience! In the past they usually lose and head home by 10:30...not this year! We were there until 2:00 and it was hot. After a shower and quick nap, we headed to Top Golf in Katy for Michael's birthday celebration part 2. It was a really neat place, but another late night. Sunday morning we went with my parents to check out Pleasure Pier in Galveston and eat lunch at The Spot. It got hot quickly, so we headed home early afternoon.  Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

23 Weeks

May 16, 2013

Baby news: Our baby girl is 12.5 inches and 1.25 lbs.

How far along? 23 weeks...another week in the books! It's getting a little crazy to think that we only have 17 weeks until my due date! Tuesday, 5/13/13 marked 4 months until the big day!

Total weight gain/loss: According to our scale at home, I've crossed over the 5lb mark! I woke up Tuesday morning and holy cow, my belly grew! I go to the dr on Thursday, so I will see what they say. I always like their scale better. =)

Sleep: I am sleeping good, but waking up at least 4-5 times a night. Rolling over is more of a chore, so I think I wake up when I try to roll over. Tuesday I rolled from my side to my back. As I laid there for a few minutes, I felt the baby move all the way across my stomach. It was so cool!

Best moment this week: We have officially picked a name and are spreading the news! Our little one will be Madison Elisabeth Konesheck! The name picking was actually a lot less stressful than I had thought it would be.

Cravings: Queso! We ate Mexican food Monday night and I ordered a small queso. Eric said it was only a dollar more for a large...so you know what decision I made! It was so delicious. I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day.

Movement: I have been feeling stronger movements, which is amazing! Feeling Madison move is by far the most amazing part of the pregnancy.

Have you started to show yet? Yes and I love it! I had a few people at work comment on my "growth spurt" this week.

Gender prediction: It's a girl!! I am excited to get the nursery painted and start setting things up.

Wedding rings: Still on. I didn't wear them on Sunday because we had just gotten back in town and they were packed. It was Mother's Day, so who knows what kind of looks I got out in public when my mom and I went shopping. ;)

Mood: Things are slowing down a little at work as the year is coming to an end, so that has been nice this week. I have had a lot more energy.

Looking forward to: I am going to the dr on Thursday, which I always enjoy. I am also going to eat lunch with Tegan on Friday. I told her on Wednesday and she was so excited. Looking forward to seeing all the kiddos.

Anything Else??? It has been a busy week! Last weekend we went to Galveston for a UTMB reunion weekend. We stayed at a beach house with 14 people. It was great to get to see everyone. My belly was rubbed more in those 2 days that it has been in the past 23 weeks! I also got to celebrate my first Mother's Day. Eric have me a baby book that matches the theme of the nursery and a very sweet card. My parents gave me a James Avery mom charm, a baby robe and some cute baskets for the nursery. On Tuesday night, I went to watch Leslie's daughter, Hayden in the Greene talent show. It was fun to visit my old school. I saw 6 of my former students. Thursday night is Adyson's preschool graduation.

Only one picture this week...Brandi and Drew got Miss Madison these cute little shoes.

22 Weeks

May 9, 2013

Baby news: Our baby girl is 11.5 inches and officially 1 lb!

How far along? 22 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Around 3 lbs. I am starting to grow!

Sleep: I am sleeping good, but rolling over is starting to become interesting. 😀

Best moment this week: On Wednesday we picked up our crib! We were told it wouldn't be in stock until around the beginning of July, but it came a lot earlier than that. I also had my first baby shower, at my school. It was so wonderful! My office team went above and beyond to make it special for me.

Cravings: My first real craving has been queso. I think about it all the time.

Movement: Monday was a party in my belly that apparently wore baby girl out! She moved pretty much all day at work, playing bumper boats as she flung herself towards the front of my stomach. I guess she needed more room, because she spent the next 2 hours pushing up on my uterus. It was actually a little painful. I love feeling her move and wish she would move like that all day everyday!

Have you started to show yet? Yes and I love it! I'm in that good stage right now where I look pregnant but not huge yet.

Gender prediction: It's a girl!!

Wedding rings: Still on, we will see how it goes as the weather warms up.

Mood: Doing good, starting to get worn out at work, but trying to remind myself to slow down.

Looking forward to: Starting on the nursery and getting more stuff for our little girl.

Anything Else??? Here are some pictures from my school baby shower.

Gender Reveal Party

On April 20th, we had a get together for our family to reveal is Baby Konesheck was a boy or girl! Eric and I found out on Monday of that week and kept the secret all week. It was very hard the first day, but got easier after that. When we went to the ultrasound we were shocked when the ultrasound tech said it was a girl! We both thought is was going to be a boy. It took a few days to sink in that I was going to have a sweet baby girl. We are so excited and Eric has been having a blast planning the nursery. Here are some pictures from the big reveal!

21 Weeks

May 2, 2013

Baby news: Our baby girl is 11 inches and officially 1 lb!

How far along? 21 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Around 2 lbs. I think my belly had a growth spurt this week.

Sleep: I am sleeping good, but rolling over is starting to become interesting. 😀

Best moment this week: We celebrated Eric's birthday on Monday. It was his golden birthday...29 years old on April 29th! Hard to believe next year we will celebrate with our baby girl.

Cravings: Someone at school asked me about cravings this week and I said nothing in general, just food. I have been hungry most of the week.

Movement: I actually haven't felt much movement this week. A little here and there, but nothing major. The doctor said this is normal at this point because I have an anterior placenta, meaning it is right by my belly button. Since the baby is sitting right at my belly button, I won't feel the movement as much for a couple weeks. The heartbeat is still strong, so nothing to worry about.

Have you started to show yet? Yes and I love it! I'm in that good stage right now where I look pregnant but not huge yet.

Gender prediction: It's a girl!! Eric and I were so excited to find out the gender and both a little surprised that it was a girl. We have been planning the nursery and looking for names. We are between Madison and Katelyn.

Wedding rings: Still on, but I have noticed some swelling here and there when I don't drink enough water.

Mood: Great! Work has been very busy this week, but it should slow down a little in the next week.

Looking forward to: Starting on the nursery and getting more stuff for our little girl.

Anything Else??? I found out this week I have to switch doctors. =( This will be the 4th doctor of my pregnancy. Fertility doctor and 2 Ob- Gyns. Since Eric works for St. John's, they are the preferred hospital. My doctors office only delivers at Clear Lake Regional. This would mean the difference between our portion of payment being 20% or 70%...decision made! I found a group of UTMB doctors close to our house that I am going to switch to. Lets hope this is the last time!

We have been shopping!!

20 Weeks- Halfway there!

April 25, 2013

20 weeks- we have hit the halfway point! I can't help but having been singing Bon Jovi in my head all week...Wooah, we're halfway there, Wooah, living on a prayer!

Baby news: Our baby girl is 10 inches long and weighing in at a whopping 12 ounces! According to the app on my phone, baby has grown 4 inches and gained 6 ounces in the past 3 weeks. No wonder I have been tired!

How far along? 20 weeks! Halfway there!

Total weight gain/loss: I've only gained 1.4 pounds my whole pregnancy...excited about that!

Sleep: I am sleeping good, but rolling over is starting to become interesting. 😀

Best moment this week: We had a gender reveal party on Saturday for our family. It was such a great day! We did a balloon release with pink balloons. I think most people were surprised to see pink!

Cravings: No cravings, the goal for the past week has been just eating. I had about 5 days where I didn't want anything for dinner. Eric gets frustrated when I don't eat dinner, but I'm just not hungry and nothing sounds good.

Movement: Definitely feeling some strong movement usually everyday. I will have 1 day of a baby party in my belly, then a couple days of bit much movement. I love feeling her move and can't wait to feel even more.

Have you started to show yet? Yes and I love it! I'm in that good stage right now where I look pregnant but not huge yet.

Gender prediction: It's a girl!! Eric and I were so excited to find out the gender and both a little surprised that it was a girl. Eric has been planning the nursery and looking for names. Thank goodness 1 of us is on top of it!

Wedding rings: Still on, but I have noticed some swelling here and there when I don't drink enough water.

Mood: Tired... I feel great, but I am just so tired during the day at work. I've been going to bed between 9-10, but I still wake up tired and get worn out during the day.

Looking forward to: Starting on the nursery and getting more stuff for our little girl.

Anything Else???
