Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads we know!  We were able to celebrate with Eric's dad and Michael on Father's Day in San Antonio.  The next day, we had a Father's Day dinner with my dad and Papa at our house.  It was the first time we had my parents and grandparents over to our house for dinner.  We enjoyed dinner and the Bachelorette!  We were also able to plan for our upcoming cruise.  Happy Father's Day to my dad who is always there to support Eric & I and provide endless advice on cooking, house issues and many other topics!

Konesheck Family Vacation 2012

Father's Day weekend we took a short vacation with the Konesheck family to San Antonio.  This summer, we stayed at the J.W. Marriott Resort.  It is absolutely beautiful and relaxing.  The hotel sits on a hill that overlooks the hill country.  When you walk in the lobby, you actually walk into the 2nd level and you can look out a wall of windows to see the hill country.  The pool area has a lazy river, kids pool and slides, adult slides and a beautiful pool lounge area.

The kids had a wonderful time floating in the "crazy river" as Cainan calls it, and showing off their swimming skills.  The first day, most of us went to the pool while Eric, Michael and David (Katie's boyfriend) went to play golf.  The hotel is home to a TPC golf course, so the boys were excited about getting to play there.  After a long day at the pool, we all went to shower and relax, where I discovered that I was absolutely fried!  I had not been that sunburned in as long as I can remember.  I had put on sunscreen 4 times that day, but somehow got more burned that all the other pale skinned people in the family.  =)  That night we ate dinner at the hotel and hung out around the hotel.

On Sunday, we spent the day at the pool and lazy river again.  Thankfully for my sunburn, we had a cabana rented for the day.  I was able to stay in the shade for most of the day and catch up on some reading.  Sunday was Father's Day, so we went out to dinner that night to celebrate Russell and Michael.

Eric and I had to leave San Antonio by 5am on Monday so he could be back in time for work.  Even though it was a short weekend, we had a great time.  It is always nice to get to spend time with the Konesheck's...it's always an adventure being part of their big family!

  Cute little fishies =)

Let's jump off 20 times! (They counted all 20)

Happy Housewarming

After 3 months of home ownership, we were able to celebrate with friends and family for our housewarming party.  We had 4 UTMB friends stay at our house for the weekend.  It was so nice to see them and catch up on life.  Brandi and Drew's little boy, Tripp, is 5 months old now and the happiest little boy.  He smiled all weekend and barely cried at all.

We had a wonderful day on Saturday getting to celebrate our new home with great friends and family.  We had family, work friends and personal friends all under one roof.  It was so nice for all the circles of our lives to get to meet each other.  We were so busy enjoying the day that we didn't take many pictures.  Here are a few from the weekend:

Memorial Day Celebrations

Memorial Day weekend was full of celebrations in the Konesheck family!  We started out by having a gender reveal party at Michael and Heather's house.  Heather brought an envelope with the genders to Party City and had the girl who worked there fill a box with the appropriate color balloons.  We all gathered in the front yard while Tegan and Cainan opened the box for the big reveal.  When the box opened, the balloons flew out and we found out the twins will be...

TWO BOYS!!!

We are so excited to have 2 more nephews!  Now they need to keep cooking in Heather's belly until mid-September...

After the gender reveal, we went to Tegan's dance recital.  She looked so cute in her costume!  She was so excited at the end when she had tons of flowers waiting for her.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mom's I know! I am so lucky to have a fabulous mom who supports me, listens to me ramble on about things, and shares a love of many of the same things I do. We had a great weekend and got to see both our mom's and Heather this weekend. It was a nice weekend getting to celebrate with our families.

Happy 28th Birthday Eric

Happy 28th Birthday to my wonderful hubby! Each year when our birthday's roll around, I always bring up how many birthday's we have know each other for...this year makes 15!!!  We met when we were 13 and have celebrated together ever since!

We spent the weekend celebrating Eric by going shopping for stuff for our house and going to dinner with my parents on Saturday.  On Sunday, we went to Kemah with the Konesheck's.  Eric has never really enjoyed celebrating his birthday, but birthdays are a big deal to me.  I think he had a great, low key weekend, just the way he likes it. =)

Here's my favorite picture from Eric's birthday:

Aunt and Uncle...Times Two!

Around the beginning of March we got some very exciting news...Heather was pregnant!  Eric randomly told me this while we were packing to move.  The conversation went a little something like this:

Eric: Oh, by the way, I talked to Michael today.  Heather's pregnant...
Sara: WHAT!!!!  OH MY GOSH!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?
Eric: Yea...with twins... (enter voice with little emotion)
Sara: You're joking...whatever (I've learned you can never take a Konesheck seriously!)
Eric: I'm serious...call her and ask her

So, I had to call to verify...and it's true!!  Michael and Heather are going to have twins sometime around mid-September!

After finding out, I had to keep the secret for about 2 weeks until we had a crawfish boil at their house on St. Patrick's day.  The picture below is what they put on the tv during the prayer before dinner to see how quickly people noticed.  The reactions were priceless!  Many people didn't notice and most didn't realize it was twins.

We couldn't be more happy for them. It has been a long journey for them and will welcome the new bambinos with open arms.  We are looking forward to 2 more nieces/nephews to love and spoil. =)
