Madison's 9 Month Check Up

Yesterday Madison and I went to the pediatrician for her 9 month check up.  Since I didn't have any days to take off after maternity leave Eric has taken her to all her appointments since she was 2 months old.  I was glad to get to take her and see the doctor again.  Her doctor is absolutely wonderful!  Every time her comes in the room, he immediately scoops her up, talks to her and today he read her a book.

While we were waiting to be called back, we discovered the play area.  Madison loved all the toys and getting to walk around the play center.

Once we got called back, the nurse weighed and measured her.  She is growing right on track and weighed 20 pounds 3 ounces today.  She is in the 70th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.  She is such a little ham and kept making funny faces at the nurse and laying her head on the nurses shoulder.

When we got into the room, the doctor examined her and asked about her development.  She is developing right on track...pulling up, taking a step while holding on, saying dada, making the /p/ and /b/ sounds, eating well, 1 tooth and 3 more popping through and being very social.

As we left, the doctor said "you are living the dream with this perfect baby".  We couldn't agree more!

{Five on Friday}

Happy Friday friends! Madison and I have enjoyed our first week of summer vacation. We are slowly starting to get used to being home with each other and making a plan for the days.

{1} Monday and Tuesday were a little rough as we both figured out our new normal. Madison is used to only seeing me for a few minutes in the morning before I go to work, so she was a little confused. ;) it took a couple days to get her back into her nap routine that she was on at school. She is also getting 2 teeth, so I am guessing those are hurting.

Madison has her first trip to Chik-fil-a!

This was the only way she would nap Tuesday morning...my heart was melting.

One big success was that we managed to go grocery shopping just the two of us! That is the first time we have done that...Madison is 9 months old.

{2} We have enjoyed playing to our hearts content! Madison loves her stand and play table and her books this week. I put all her blocks and rings into a plastic bucket and she thinks that is the best thing ever!

{3} We have spent a lot of our time swimming! Madison loves the water, so we have been swimming 4 days since Saturday. We bought an 8 foot blowup pool for the backyard that we have been playing in. We ventured to the neighborhood pool twice and Madison loved it!

Suns up, pools open!

{4} Madison is such a mess lately and it cracks me up! She is getting very adventurous and doesn't get scared by much. This is her preferred method to get in and out of her toy car...yes, there is a door on the other side. 9 months has been so much fun so far!

Here is her 9 month memory page.

{5} Last weekend we had a great time celebrating Father's Day. We started with waffle for breakfast. Eric got a waffle iron a few weeks ago and we have enjoyed getting to try it out. We didn't get a picture from that morning, but here is one from my birthday a couple weeks ago.

In the afternoon, we went to my parents for dinner with Lolli Pops, GiGi and PePe.

Here's to a great weekend, full of swimming I'm sure!

Madison's 9 Month Birthday!

Madison, You have had so many “firsts” this month!  We love your sweet and funny personality that you have developed.  There is nothing better than your sweet smile and seeing how excited you get when you see your family.  We can’t wait to have a fun summer with you!

Date: June 6, 2014

Weight: You weigh 19 lbs. 2 ozs. and you are wearing 6-9 month clothes.  You can fit into 9-12 month clothes also, since it is summer and the clothes are looser. You are wearing size 3 diapers.

Sleeping: You are still a wonderful sleeper!  We had our first “sleep regression” this month after lowering your crib.  For a week, you screamed every time we put you in your crib.  It broke Mommy’s heart, but we made it through. You sleep from 8pm to 7am and take 2 good naps.

Eating: You are still eating stage 2 baby food.  We are trying to introduce more solid foods, such as strawberries, sweet potatoes and rice.  You love ice cold water...hopefully you will grow up to be a good water drinker!

Milestones: This month was full of “firsts”! You had an ear infection, got your first tooth, got a haircut, pulled up on things, learned to crawl on your knees instead of army crawling, went swimming and got a rash on your face.

Special Moments: We celebrated Mother’s Day this month!  We had a nice day at the house with Lolli, Pops, MowMow, PawPaw, Gigi, Papa, KayKay and David!  We had a wonderful day, expect that a stomach bug spread through the house and everyone got sick a few days later.  We made a trip to Dallas for Memorial Day.  Even though you had a horrible cough and an ear infection, you were such a good girl!  You went swimming and loved the water.  Daddy bought you a small blow-up pool for the back porch to have at home.

Blue Eyed Girl

Last week, we went to Helen's Garden in League City to take some 9 month pictures of Madison.  We had not been there before and it was beautiful!  I can't get over the fact that Madison is 9 months old and is developing such a fun little personality.  She got her beautiful blue eyes from Eric and I love that we were able to capture how beautiful they truly are in the last picture.
